In 2013 New Ground Church was founded with the vision: “To see people transformed by God’s amazing grace.” Here are a few things we believe we are called to do to see that vision become a reality.
). We are called to worship God in everything. Worshipping God isn’t limited to reading the bible or singing songs (though they are included), but also includes how we treat others, how we steward our resources, and the integrity we have. As we engage our world we must pray, “Lord, not my will but Yours be done.”
). We are called to reach out to others. We don’t want to be known simply as people who go to church or hold certain beliefs, but as people who are the body of Christ in this world. That means we can’t live in a “play it safe” Christian bubble, but must engage our world. Our heart is to make a difference in this world, and that is done by loving and serving others.
). We are called to share the good news of Jesus with all. Jesus entered into creation to die for our sins so that we could be reconciled to God the Father through Him — that is good news! Our world needs to hear this good news that God loves them and is calling them to be reconciled to Him through Jesus.
). We are called to serve together. Every person has been created by God with talents and skills that are unique to them. The church is put together with each person bringing their unique talent to fulfill a needed role. Together we function as one body (fingers, arms, head, organs, legs, etc), to fulfill our mission of revealing God’s grace to this world. When we choose not to serve together we hinder the body’s ability to function as it was created to.
). We are called to make disciples. Jesus commanded the disciples to go and make more disciples. As followers of Jesus we are called to do the same. We must be intentional about pouring into others and seeing them fully become the people God created them to be.
