WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?
Sunday services start at 10am and we want to make sure that you have ample time to check in your kids, grab a cup of coffee and connect with the great people who attend New Ground so we encourage you to arrive a few minutes early. But if you are running late no worries, members of the community are glad to help serve you at all times.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Most people attending are pretty casual. You won’t find anybody wearing suits or “Sunday best.” In fact, most of the time the pastor is in jeans and a shirt. We’re pretty laid back and casual—so come as you are!
WHAT IS THE WORSHIP AND TEACHING LIKE?
First of all, we believe worship is more than music, it involves all of your life. We have traditional prayers, offerings, sacraments of communion and baptism, preaching, as well as music. But if you’re asking about music, you’ll find it’s more in line with a contemporary/modern flair. Our teachings are based in Scripture, bridging what it meant to its original listeners to our lives 7-days-a-week. You can listen to our teachings on our Sermons page, in addition to our podcasts on ITunes and Google Play.
DO YOU HAVE ANY CHILDREN’S PROGRAMMING?
Absolutely! During our Sunday Gatherings, children ages birth-5th grade are encouraged to be a part of our Children’s Ministry. Each age-appropriate classroom is lead by members of NGC who are excited to teach your children about Jesus in a way that is fun and engaging, and at a level that they can understand. We also take great care to make sure your children are safe while they are with us and have safety measures installed that all of our children’s leaders are trained to know.
HOW DO YOU MINISTER TO TEENAGERS?
At New Ground Church we encourage our middle and high school students not only to worship with their families but to take an active role in both leadership and serving the community. Because one of our values is an intergenerational ministry; you will find people off all ages serving and worshipping together at New Ground Church. We also offer opportunities for teens to develop healthy peer relationships, to engage in mentorship, and to wrestle with situations that are unique to the teenage years through our Student Ministry that meets every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month. You can find more information on the student page located under the “connect” tab.
The best way to answer your questions is to show up in person! We encourage you to meet the community, enjoy some great conversations, and most importantly, grow in your relationship with Jesus.
